Weekend get away
So, this weekend, we celebrated part two of our anniversary. I do have to give it to Mike. He planned the entire trip.
We headed to Hot Springs, AR which I do have to say is a hidden secret. That town has everything.(including a Mall, TJMAXX, Hobby Lobby, A oh so cute children's boutique..)
We stayed at the beautiful Arlington Hotel. And boy if those walls could talk, I'm sure they would have some stories. I'm sure the hotel is dated back to the late 1800's. I love the oldness of the hotel.
Mike and I had a nice dinner, then we headed to the strip for a few cocktails. We spent most of the night in the hotel lobby. You just can't beat the people watching.
We woke up (after a much needed sleep in) and had a couples massage. It was WONDERFUL! I highly recommend it.
We had a great time. It was nice having a little alone time with him. BUT it was super nice to get home to Hannah. I just can't get used to a night without her.

Happy Anniversary
One September 19, 2009 Mike and I got married at the piper palm house.
It was by far the best day of my life. We were surrounded by all of our friends and family and WE WERE FINALLY GETTING MARRIED.
Mike and I dated three years before we got married, people were coming out of the wood works to see the "gal that got lightening to get married" trust me when I say. It was like tamming a wild horse lol..I'm totally kidding. Mike and I knew we were each others "one" shortly after we meet. When you know, you just know.
We got married pretty early in the morning, there was quite a bit time between the wedding and the reception. So, shock shock, another reason to have a party at my parents house. We had so much fun. It was Cardinals vs. Cubs and Mizzou was playing.
I know this had to be one of the best moments of Mike's day. It's not too often that he gets all of his closets friends together to watch sports. And I'm pretty sure I won the wife award when he and his groomsmen got to skip out of the last of pictures when the game came on.
We had our reception at Tapawing Golf Course. It was everything that I dreamed of
We had an amazing time, and we've had an amazing marriage. I never thought I would be married, living in Arkansas with a beautiful daughter. Dreams really do come true.

Hannah's 12/13.5 Month Stats
So, I finally got an appointment with Hannah's doctor for her 12 month wellness check up. With us being out of town so much in August and September we just got around to seeing Dr. Keathly. Who I highly recommend. I absolutley love the Little Rock Children's Clinic. Hannah's doctor is amazing.
So there we were today waiting in the waiting room for our name to be called. Hannah being the social bug that she is, kept trying to feed "Parker" her cheerio's. The poor boy was terrified of Hannah, he wanted nothing to do with her ( I personally think...Somebody needs to work on their social skills..) anywho they call our name and we head off to the little room to see the doctor, but to my surprise we stopped at the "Big Kid" scale to take Hannah's weight. You know what I'm talking about.
This scale that I personally hate. I couldn't believe it was time for Hannah to be weighed on this scale. My first thought was "Shoot! I don't have my camera" lol...I'm offically that girl.
Hannah had a pretty good check up, minus the shots.
She's 21.5 pounds (42% percentile)
Length 30" (58% percentile)
Head Circumference 17.5 (20% percentile)
She does well with new foods, she loves her veggies and fruits. She's not a big meat eater. Except for hot dogs, but I really try to limit those.
She's doing better and better with Milk. And we are offically off the bottles and the binkies are only necessary at night.
Dr. Keathly said she is a very happy healthy baby, which I'm sure she tells most patients that, but I took that opportunity to thank God for giving us a healthy happy baby. I feel very fortunate that we all have good health.
I'm not really sure where she learned to put her hands on her hips...maybe from her dad ;o)

Where were you on September 11, 2001?
Where were you on September 11, 2001? That seems to be the question of the day. I remember where I was, I'll never forget. I was in my first year of culinary school. I walked into class and the TV was on. I remember thinking, "what are these guys watching, Why is dirt flying all around and people running around like crazy?".
People on TV were running and screaming and the news anchor was really distracted. One of my classmates said "We're under attack" I thought what in the world is this fool talking about? Other classmates started flooding into the room and we all sat with our eyeballs glued to the T.V. hanging on to every word that the news lady was saying, like I said it was chaos, people running and crying..people were everywhere all through the streets, then all of a sudden you see a plane in the background hit the second tower. It was way too much for me to handle. I couldn't believe my eyes. Did that really just happen?
By that time our instructor had made it into class, he let us watch just a few more minutes of T.V. then made us shut it off. Most people left the class and went home. I think at some point classes ended up being cancelled. I remember driving home and seeing all of the flags at half mast. That is when I broke down and just cried for all the people who lost thier life.
I remember talking to my dad about the attack and concerned that he may be sent to help in NYC with the other fellow firemen. I was so worried. Then my dad said "This is going to start a war... a very long war" I thought what in the world..War? Seriously? We are so advanced as a nation but we settled our difference with War? I don't get it and I don't think I ever will.
9/11 is very sad and is an event that will forever scar our nation. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who lost their loved ones.

And so it begins...
Summer is rapidly coming to an end. The heat wave has finally broken, we can now enjoy evenings outside without the threat of a heat stroke. The windows are open and I absolutely love the cool mornings. Fall is just right around the corner. I love fall, it's my favorite season. I love it all..the hoodies, the cool breeze, the new fall series on T.V.
The only downfall is...my husband's secret love affair with FOOTBALL! It consumes his every move. I'm talking college football, pro football, fantasy football, football on the IPAD checking the score.. blah blah blah.
Every season I try really hard to sit and watch football with him. I have to give it to him. He tries really hard to get me pumped up. He shares some sob story about some guy who is down on his luck and get's taken in by a white family, only to discover he's amazing at football (oh wait..maybe that was a movie..who knows)
I really don't mind football games as long as there are great football snacks, adult beverages and maybe a female that I can chat about last nights episode of Real Housewives.
So, in honor of "OPENING NIGHT OF FOOTBALL" I thought I'd spice up our Razorback decor.
With a few supplies from the craft store, and a little football spirit...
"We've Got Spirit.. Yes We Do!"
The Lassen's are officially ready for Razorback football!! "Let's get ready to rumble"
