Day 1

Shall we review?

Day one of the crash/Ethiopian diet.

Woke up feeling great. Especially after weighing myself. Like every morning I started my day with a cup of coffee. The diet calls for black coffee only. This girl likes a little cream in her coffee... (don't believe me, look at my husband... small joke)

I digress

I'm a creamer addict. I have 4 types of creamer in my fridge at all times. Apparently creamer is full of junk that makes you fat. So I skimmed it down and just put the recommend serving size of one tablespoon in my coffee.

What I learned:

I'm using way too much creamer.

When I got to work I drank more cups of coffee and two waters. The plan was to fill up on drinks and eat breakfast as late in the day as I could stand it. I usually eat breakfast by 6am. I was cool calm and collective and then bam my co worker warmed up her breakfast... a delicious breakfast burrito. (GET BEHIND ME SATAN) I just kept my little hands busy with work. I held out until 7am and ate my breakfast. My little pathetic breakfast: one slice of toast, one slice of cheese and a can of pink grapefruit juice. which surprisingly filled me up.

I kept pumping the water. I felt fine until lunch then everyone and their mom started eating cheeseburgers and chicken potpies I skipped my usually lunch break at 11am and just drank water. I really wanted to spread my meals out since I knew I wouldn't be eating dinner until 6am.

What I learned:

why in the world was I so worried about my next meal? What's that phrase... Eat to live, don't live to eat.

Here is where things went a little cray cray..

By 11:30 I was hungry and angry...

I was super excited to eat.

I warm my lunch up and head to the table to inhale my food... and BOOM

I drop my lunch on the floor

I thought to myself.... "does the five second rule apply when you work in a hospital?" um no unless you want to catch a nasty virus.

Thankfully I was able to run down to the cafe and grab an overpriced grilled chicken sandwhich (hold the bun)

I was a tad hungry by dinner time.

I had dinner and sulked a little then carried my hungry self to bed.

Let's jump on the honest train... apparently this post didn't post when I wrote it two days ago. Sorry for the out of orderness for these reviews.

Day Three

If you haven’t been following along, I’ve been on this whack diet for the last three days. You can read about day one HERE and day two HERE.

This diet is called the Baptist health diet. It is used for overweight patients who need to lose weight… with quickness.

INFO

In no way am I a dietitian (for the love of wine I had to look up how to spell it). I just knew I needed a jump start to lose some weight and I’ve heard great things about this diet.

Day three was much easier than day two. Day two was for the birds. I’m pretty sure it had to do with the fact that I was at work and not at home salivating over H’s food.

Like day one and two I waited as long as I could to eat breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was 5 saltine crackers, slice of cheese and an apple. I’ve always been a breakfast person. I don’t need a plate of pancakes with a side of eggs each morning. I just need a little something to soak up my coffee. I had to admit it but this diet was on key for breakfast. I felt the quantity was right on. The only thing I would change would be day two. Day two was 1 egg, 1 slice of toast and ½ of a banana. Who eats ½ of a banana? No one…

I will most likely stick to the breakfast portion of this diet.

Lunch on day three was 1 hard-boiled egg, 1 slice of toast. I kept re-reading the sheet. I just knew I was leaving something off. Needless to say I was hungry and downing coffee most of the afternoon.

Dinner: strange I would always be starving like Marvin on the way home for dinner but when I sat down to eat, I wasn’t that hungry. I always felt like I was eating so much food for dinner.

Day Three Dinner:
1 cup of tuna or chicken or Turkey (I went with a chicken breast)
1 cup of carrots or beets (I went with the carrots)
1 cup cauliflower, cantaloupe, banana or greens (I went with the banana)
½ cup of vanilla ice cream
½ cup of cantaloupe (I skipped…I was too full)

I wasn’t hungry at all after dinner. Usually I’d get hungry around 8.

I also waited to eat my ice cream until 7:00pm. I’m wondering if that was a no-no.

All in all, I think this diet worked. I will be doing this again…next week.

Total weight lost: 6 pounds WHERE THE EFF IS MY OTHER 4 POUNDS?

I’m sure my four pounds are in the creamer in the 27 cups of coffee I drank due to hunger. I defiantly learned that I drink way too much coffee. I’m plan on kicking this habit this week… that’s a lie. I will kick this habit when my spark comes in.

The past three days has taught me so much

1.I was eating crap. Like all the time. My plan is to stick to chicken breast, fresh veggies… some fruit here and there but no to sweets and junk
2.No snacking. It’s just not necessary.
3.No eating after 8pm
4.No drinking during the week #holdme
5.No beer…just red wine

I’m pretty proud of my results. I’ll take 6 pounds in three days. That’s with no form of working out.

Next week, I plan to start this diet again. I may do a little tweaking since I plan on running every day next week and I plan on no drinking 6 cups of coffee a day.

Has anyone else tried this diet? I’d love to hear what you thought about it.

Day 2

Let us pray.

I first want apologize to those who felt the wrath of my hunger yesterday. I was hungry and was not thinking straight. I will try to do better today. But to my defense everyone has been warned..

Day 2 was hard.

I woke up feeling great after seeing results on the scale. I ate my breakfast and headed out the door with H. I packed her bag of snacks since we’d be out running errands for most of the morning. Nobody wants to deal with a hungry mamma and a hungry 3 year old.

We headed off to the beauty shop. Things were perfect there. I wasn’t really hungry. I however had to fight the urge to stay out of H’s snack bag. The smell of the buttery popcorn almost sent me over the top. I resisted.

I left the salon feeling hungry and with a heart of regret. I don’t know what came over me. I told my beautician to just cut whatever she wanted off. Um… now my hair is short…like real short. #friendsdon’tletfriendscuttheirhairwhendieting

M loves it. It’s growing on me.

We ran a few errands and then headed home for feeding time. My lunch: 5 saltine crackers and a can of tuna (aka cat food). It was NASTY. I managed to get it down out of starvation. Oh man, the smell of that tuna.

H’s lunch: Pizza. do you know how hard it was to make her home made pizza? It took prayer for me to resist.

Needless to say, I was hungry and counting the hours down until dinner.

I was miserable most of the day.

M sent me this semi sweet text. It helped a little. I'd rather him send me a pizza but what ev

Dinner was the best part of my day.

Dinner: 2 hot dogs, broccoli, carrots and ½ cup of ice-cream. I was so happy to eat; I swear a tear rolled down my face. Honestly, I was full after one hot dog. But I ate the other one anyway.

I drank my coffee (with creamer) watch some tv and went to bed before the hunger could set in.

Down one more pound this morning.

Total 5 pounds. I’ll take it.

Today’s meal: Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.

Wednesday
Day Three

Breakfast:
•Black coffee/tea
•5 saltine crackers
•1 slice cheddar cheese
•1 apple

Lunch:
•1 hard-boiled egg
•1 slice toast
•Black coffee/tea

Dinner:
•1 cup tuna or chicken or turkey
•1 cup carrots or beets
•1 cup cauliflower, cantaloupe, banana or greens
•½ cup vanilla ice cream
•½ cup cantaloupe

It's hump day! one day closer until I can have wine the weekend.

What I learned this weekend

What I learned this weekend…

M:

He’s pretty effing fantastic. He has a heart of gold and he works his arse off for his family. I didn’t realize how much he really appreciated me getting up in the mornings and making him breakfast. It was just something I did. I mean I gotta feed H so mine as well throw some eggs down M’s throat. I also learned how much of a softy he is with H and finally I realize its ok. Those two have a special bond and who am I to judge. I was the same way with my dad.

H:

Oh my sweet H. She hates panties. Like really hates wearing them. #helpme. Since I leave for work at 5am, M has to get her dressed. I hear it’s a battle. So this weekend we took Miss Priss shopping. We tried EVERY item of clothing on before we purchased it. We tried a gazillion items on and we walked out with five. There were two shirts that she liked so we bought them in every color. She is one strong willed girl. I hope she never changes. We had so much fun this weekend just being girls. We did nails, shopped, had a pizza party and spend hours outside. H taught me just to enjoy life this weekend.

Church:

We are discussing Luke in church. WOW… I mean it really makes me realize I need to do better. Our pastor said this phrase that really hit home with me:
“Some Christians want to spend eternity with Christ, BUT they don’t want to spend time with Christ now” (we’ll something to that effect…my memory isn’t what it used to be)
That is so true. WE (meaning I) know without a doubt I am going to heaven, but that doesn’t mean I don’t need to spend time with Christ every day. Yes, church on Sunday is great but I need to be in the word every day. (I mean Gesh, look at my sailor mouth) I need to do better with my daily devotions. I would love to find one to do with H every night. Any suggestions?

Friends:

I’ve been blessed with some really great friends here in AR. It’s just amazing how God brings people into your life at the right time. Do you ever get that feeling to just send a friend a random text, just telling them how great they are? Or send a random card just to make someone’s day. I learned this week to listen to my gut and send that text…because it really does mean a lot to the person on the other end.

Crash Diets

Oh Monday, you dirty dog… You’re like a bad case of the hiccups…Not this week. This girl is READY for you!

Today I start my diet. I’ve re-named it the Ethiopian diet. I know the name is a little insensitive. So what who cares, I’m pretty sure those kids in the commercials… will be eating MORE than me these next three days.

Have you heard of the 3day diet? Check it out here. The plan is to STICK to this diet and lose 10 pounds in 3 days. Everyone I know that has tried it said it sucked balls worked. I’m a sucker for crash diets so here goes nothing. I’ve even talked a few friends into doing it. We even put a little honey in the honey pot (aka prize money) and making a contest out of it. EXCEPT these little biotches extended it through Monday. That’s SEVEN days… don’t they know Sunday is super bowl? Who weighs in Monday after super bowl? #ineednewfriends

This is my meal for today: PRAY for me. I've already warned M.

MondayDay One
Breakfast:
•Black coffee/tea
•½ grapefruit or can of pink GF juice
•1 slice of toast
•1 tbs of peanut butter
Lunch:
•½ cup tuna or broiled skinless chicken
•1 slice toast w/cheddar cheese
•Black coffee/tea
Dinner:•2 slices of meat (3 oz) or small broiled steak
•1 cup string beans
•1 cup of carrots
•1 small apple
•½ cup vanilla ice cream

I just keep telling myself "I can do all things through Christ"

Here's a little motivation for everyone! Make it a great day!

Can we talk movies for a hot minute?

M and I LOVE movies. It’s our thing. It’s pretty sad how excited we get to view the “new releases” on Tuesdays. Uverse is practically our “other spouse”

When we first started dated dinner and a movie was our jam. Now that we have the bambino it’s curbside dinner… a movie…. on the couch….. in our jammies. Which is totally fine with me. You practically have to sell a kidney to go to the movie these days.

We splurge last week and actually went to the movies to see The Lone Survivor.

Hello the saddest movie in America.
My goodness. I don’t know why I was expecting rainbows and butterflies. The name tells it all. It was a good movie, a little too graphic for me. Who really wants to see a guy get his head blown off? They left NOTHING for the imagination. I do have to say the ending was better than I expected. But putting it on the “one time is enough for me list”
Maybe I’ve been struck by cupid’s arrow but have you seen the previews for all of the gushy love story movies that are coming out in Feb. #allsingleladiesstepawayfromthecliff

What about you? Do you like Movies?

Cur.rent.ly – 1. At the present time.

Watching the new HBO series True Detective. I’m totally lost. It’s good but it’s hard to follow.

Loving leggings. Because that is all the fits, They are super comfy and pretty much go with anything. AR weather can’t decide if it’s summer or winter. The high yesterday way 71 today 34. I miss you summer

Listening to the frozen soundtrack. H LOVES it. I’m pretty excited for the movie to come out on DVD.

Praying for babies. Praying for my Bestie’s baby that she continues to nurse and grow into a healthy baby, praying for another friends baby as she gets tubes in her ears today, praying for my baby every day that she doesn’t fight us to put panties on. The lord hears all our prayers right?! Lol

Admitting to sneaking into H’s Cheetos last night. Those 6 Cheetos were glorious. I miss junk food. I just keep telling myself “summer bodies are made in the winter”
Feeling frustrated with work, my weight and the fact that we are in limbo with M’s job. I have no patience.

Drinking hot tea at night, pretending its wine. I’ve committed to no drinking M-Th #holdme

Appreciating my husband. We are in a good place right now. I swear I tell him daily how much I appreciate him. He thinks I’m trying to butter him up for Valentine’s day
#he knowsmetowell

Learning to eat better. I’ve cut out junk food and really cleaned up my eating. This better pay off

Excited to head to STL in a few weeks to see friends and family

Anticipating, a move…

Bummed that my mom is transferring back to STL in August. We are going to miss her

Wishing, this weight would fall off faster

Hoping, I’m being the best mamma to Miss H.

FIVE THINGS FRIDAY!

I have never been so happy to see FRIDAY. I am doing the happy dance at my desk. ALL DAY! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous this weekend… I can’t wait to lace up my shoes and hit the pavement.

Want to know what I love this week?!

1.Everyone knows my heart belongs to St. Louis. It always will. Not to knock LR news but it’s crap. I often check STL news to get real news. This week DAVE (also known as the world’s greatest dad) was featured. My dad is the captain (not to toot his horn but TOOT TOOT) of the St. Louis Fire Department Rescue Squad and he was involved in the rescue of a dog name Diablo. Poor little Diablo was chasing geese; he ran onto the ice and fell through. These stories always warm my heart. Read more about this story HERE

2.I need these. Bad. How cute would I look watering the yard in these sassy boots?

3.West Elm. New Obsession. I can redecorate my bathroom without leaving my desk chair. Sign up and get 10% off your first purchase.

4.Last weekend I ran over my friend’s mail box. They in the middle of nowhere across the street from where the hell am i… It was dark, no street lights, and it was raining. Did I mention I was driving M’s Ford-150. Yep, I’m 5’2 I was totally “guestamating” my distance…then BOOM… I look over and M said “you know you just ran over their mailbox” whoops… I won’t even go into the fact that he got out and pushed (in the rain) then our friends had to pull the truck out of the ditch… whoops again... Oh and then I almost hit a deer. Whew... guess who’s off driving duty for a while. I just love how patient my husband is…

5. Look at my sweet girl!!

Workin' on my fitness(class)

Last week I was browsing through Facebook and saw the word FREE intro to BARRE class. Naturally I signed up without doing any research and then signed all my friends up as well.

I’m really bad about that, I sign up and ask questions later. I’ve really been struggling with my work out lately. I miss running outside like a fat kid misses donuts. I miss donuts too... I digress.

So last weekend, I took my very first Barre Class. Don’t know what a Barre Class is? No worries I didn’t either.

Description:

BarreAmped is an intensive body shaping experience designed to produce reliable results, no matter the client. The method is influenced by classical and modern dance and utilizes a barre to achieve optimal positioning. Insights from Pilates, yoga, and orthopedic stretching also balance the method’s unique approach. Mat, hand towel, and all class accessories provided. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class.

SOURCE
I had no idea what I was getting into; as long as I was toning muscles and burning calories I was in.

What I thought:

The class was HARD. Like real HARD. We started the class with arms, only using 2 pound weights. OH MY WORD, hurt. Think 2 minutes of arm toning with no breaks. We did reps of slow controlled movements. Then we moved to legs. We used a small ball between our legs and did small compressions. #KILLME. We also did slow movements and then we lifted to our toes and did squats. My legs were shaking the entire time. I could not walk the next day. I highly recommend this class if you are looking to tone.

Monday night I took a HIIT CLASS. Don’t know what a HIIT Class is? I didn’t either…

Description:

HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. This method employs intervals of maximum exertion followed by intervals of recovery. This burns major calories, blasts fat, and helps to build a strong, healthy heart. In this class we combine 30 of interval training on the bike followed by 25 minutes of strength training on the floor and a 5 minute stretch. Cycling shoes, mat, hand towel, and all class accessories are provided. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class.

Source

What I thought:

I’ve taken a spin class one time before years ago. I wanted to die. If I could manage to get my feet unhooked from the bike pedals I would have been out a fat kid in dodge ball. I couldn’t keep up and I felt like an idiot and I’m sure I looked like an idiot. What I loved about HIIT class is the lights were off and the music was pumping! I felt really good during this class. My legs felt really strong. I do need to work on my coordination. I was a little wobbly on the stand up sit down part. Thank goodness my feet were locked in, I’m sure I would have fallen off. We did 30 minutes on the bike. The last 30 minutes we went into a room and did strength training. #killme the girl at the desk described this class as a way to really burn calories. I was all in.My heart rate was up the entire time. This class was taught by the owner (who by the way is a perfect mixture of adorable and sassy…and is 27 yrs old) I think she really made the class fun. And she wasn’t afraid to call you out when she didn’t think you were pushing yourself.

I highly recommend this class as well.

The plan is to take their ZenCycle class and Hot Yoga class this week. (My poor hair, I’m going to look like Cece from the color purple.)

What do you do to stay fit in the winter months?

Family Meals

It’s Monday…. And you know what that means… I’m off tomorrow, I started my clean eating/work out regime (again) and I’m jacked up on coffee. Cheers.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. This girl had a great weekend. It was filled with friends, wine, me running over someone’s mail box and my first HIIT class. (Details to follow)
I was having a conversation this weekend about eating dinner as a family. I now see where eating together as a family is only something you see on reruns of the Brady Bunch. It’s so crazy to think people don’t eat dinner as a family. Don’t get me wrong, no judgment here at all. Different strokes for different folks, but eating together as a family has always been something we did. I know my parents ate dinner together at a table as a family growing up, we grew up eating dinner together as a family and we eat dinner as a family now. It’s honestly the best part of my day.

Let’s just be honest, it isn’t the Brady bunch when we sit down for dinner. It’s not anything like the RHWOBH. We don’t have a fresh bouquet of flowers in the center of the table, nor do we have the table set like we are at a five star restaurant. H is usually eating off of a Barbie plate; and I usually pull out our finest chinet paper plates. (ain’t nobody got time for dishes) I’m getting up and down 302 times getting stuff like napkins, condiments and drinks. We say grace and talk about our day. We may only sit down for dinner for 20 minutes because we eat like freaking cavemen but we sit down as a family. I think this is important to do. I really hope H follow’s our lead on this one.

So here is my question.

As a child, did you sit down as a family for dinner?
Do you eat dinner as a family now?

Check out this article on Family Meals. It will surprise you.

January Favorites….

This year on my blog I am starting a “Favorite Things” for each month. Each month I will display my must haves. Why am I doing this? Because I can, because I am deeming this as my good deed for the day. You never know, maybe someone is looking for __________ insert need here and they come across my blog and find it. You are welcome.

January Must HAVES

Add caption

1.Vaseline. Can’t live without it in these cold temps. Vaseline is the only thing that helps keep my lips baby soft. AND, I also put a little Vaseline on my heels after my shower and it keeps my heels from getting that gross cracked look.

2.Gloria Jean’s Hazelnut coffee. This is happiness in a cup. Seriously.

3.Barefoot Pinot: This friend is happiness in a bottle. If you are looking for a light wine that goes great with most dinner meals and perfect for wine night. Try this wine. It’s very reasonable in price AND she comes in a big bottle.

4.I found these sheets on Black Friday at Target. They are fantastic. Not too hot and just warm enough. Also very reasonable in price and on sale as we speak.

5.I am a sucker for reality TV. Have you seen Toned Up? It’s on Bravo Thursday’s at 9:30pm. These two are adorable and skinny. I want to do whatever work out they are doing. The show is entertaining and leaves you with the feeling to stop eating OREO’s for dinner and the sudden urge to go work out.

6.These PJ pants are my number one stunner. I swear I spend more time with these comfy pants than my husband. #kidding they are super comfy. Found at OLDNAVY.

7.Sparkling Icicles from Bath and Body Works. It’s one of their holiday scents. READ: it’s on sale now. I had this lit in the guest bathroom during our NYE party. It made our house smell like I cleaned ALL DAY LONG.

Their Words Not MINE:
Made with the highest concentration of fragrance oil, an exclusive blend of vegetable wax and lead-free wicks to ensure an amazing fragrance experience and even burn, from beginning to end in a limited edition mason jar! Mason Jar candle burns approximately 30 to 40 hours and measures 2 3/4" wide x 4" tall.
As sparkling as the ice at the local skating pond, this fragrance features a citrus bouquet, bergamot and a touch of holiday moss

8.I’m sure everyone and their second cousin have been suckered into a THIRTY ONE party. When I was invited I went for the wine, I’ll be honest. I ordered the large tote bag with hope of organizing all of my other bags. I literally thought, hmm? Large bag means it will fit all of my other bags. Throw all of my random bags into the large tote and BOOM, look who just organized her bags! When this bag came in I was in LOVE. Seriously I used this bag a lot. Grocery stores, trips to STL, when I drag H to a friend’s house we load all of our stuff in this one big bag. Its amaze balls. So go ahead and find that thirty one magazine that has been lying on your dining room table for months and order you one. Don’t have a magazine? Contact me and I will hook you up!

Hope you enjoyed these little gems!

He’s no Mickey Mouse

Happy Wednesday EVERYONE!! We are one day closer to the weekend!!

Let me tell you about my friend I encountered yesterday….

Some of you may know I am a city girl at heart. READ: I don’t do things that crawl, slither, sting or smell. I’m all for being outdoors but I prefer it to be on a boat with a glass of wine in hand.

I totally think we live in the country. I mean for the love of Pete, if you can go outside and see frogs, snakes or deer you are basically living in a zoo. Who needs tickets? We’re running a special.

I digress

Yesterday I was chatting on the phone with my friend L (who is totally due with her first bundle of joy at any moment) when I looked out in the back yard. I see this “thing” crawling on the ground under the bird feeder. I think “oh it’s just a little bunny, trying to get some food” then I saw the tail… the long tail that basically gave me the finger like “yep, I’m all up in your backyard, eating all your bird feed” so naturally I scream (and go lock the door, because you just can’t trust things that eat bird seed)

I apologize to L for screaming in her ear and continue with our conversation on how to induce labor.

Fast forward 2 min.

Me: I wonder why the bird feeder is swinging
L: ugh, will you just focus amie
Me: OH MY GAWD…that beast is in the bird feeder eating my bird seed
L: That is sick, go take a picture
Me: ok

I go out with my phone and by “go out” I mean walk 10 feet from the door and stretch as far as I can to snap a picture. I was still a good 25yards from the feeder. I was scared. So I go get my “real” camera, you know the one with the zoom and snap a picture. Once I see the beast I freak out.

And like any strong willed women would do in this situation I…

Call my husband.

His country fried ass told me to “just leave it alone” it will go away. Then he continued to tell me that having creatures meant we live in a good environment. Blah blah blah. When did he become Mike the wilderness man?

So I call my dad. Of course my dad wants me to face time him and get closer so he can see what it was. At this point I thought the thing was stuck. It wasn’t moving. And the last thing I wanted was a dead thing stuck in my feeder. After many attempts to get close to it (while repeating “I can do all things through Christ” and carrying a rake for protection) I took M’s advice and left it alone.

It did finally go away, and you better believe I took the feeder down. We don’t need this nasty thing coming back.

That my friend is its tail hanging from the feeder! NASTYNESS

January

January: Currently

Ignoring the fact that my house is a total disaster. Laundry is cleaned NOT put away. Toys are everywhere. Yet instead of cleaning yesterday M, H and I had an indoor soccer game. Making Memories folks making memories. I’ll clean my house when H’s goes to college and I have nothing else to do.

Listenting to Songza. Have you tried it? I love it and I just found the fancy “concierge” section where I can jam to all of my ’00 hits, cause I’m cool like that. AND I only like songs that I know the words to.

Planning on going the entire month of January without shopping READ useless spending. It’s horrible. M and I try to build a little nest egg during the months of January, February and sometime March but by then I’m bursting at the seams to buy anything.

Scouring places for vacation. I want something tropical. Like a sandals all inclusive vacation for just M and I to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary this September… bring the magic back. Bochica wow wow

Pretending that I’m eating like I should be and running all of my daily miles. It’s just so cold outside…

Drinking lots of orange juice and hot totties. Sickness has once again hit our household.

Smiling about how sweet my husband is…he just amazes me everyday

Anticipating our tax refund. Gotta strick while the iron is hot. See scouring places for vacation.

Struggling with getting my butt in gear. I need to learn a little something about discipline.

How is your January starting off?

Five things Friday

This week has been insane crazy. When my alarm went off this morning I was so confused. Raise your hand if you think we should be off the entire week of Christmas and New Year’s?! Going back to work is no fun.

O.N.E
I have yet to take down my Christmas tree. I just love how pretty it is at night. It needs to come down and my house needs to be put back in order. Holidays are over! Normal life can now resume. Now I just need to host a wine night and bribe my friends to help me take it down. They'll do anything for wine.

T.W.O
I got on the treadmill last night for the first time since November. I haven’t ran since THANKSGIVING. It was brutal. Is it sad that I’m excited about my new play list and my long run that will take place (on the treadmill) tonight? It’s time to get back to the grind.

T.H.R.E.E
New Year’s Resolutions are in full bloom. One of our major resolutions is to really stick to the budget and stop frivolous spending. Meaning: Amie stop going to Target for dish washing soap and coming home with bag full of random stuff and no dishwashing soap. It happens to the best of us. I have challenged myself to the 52 week money challenge. You can read more about it here. I’m happy to say I put my dollar in this week. (Yes it was four quarters because I NEVER keep cash on me)

F.O.U.R
One of the things I really want to work on this year is being a better wife. M is so patient so giving and so kind. I’m the total opposite. I freak out over the little things, I’m loud, I have no patients and I have to remind myself to be kind. ALWAYS. Ugh, we all fall short of the Glory of God right? I came across “Wife after God”. It’s a 30 day Marriage devotional for wives. I’m in love with it. It’s an easy read, it’s to the point and it is already helping me.

unveiledwife.com Wife After God

F.I.V.E
This weeks obsession has been the song Dark Horse by Katy Perry. I’m normally not a Katy Perry Fan but this song is my jam this week!
