Can you feel the love in the air… aaah…? Valentine’s Day…Isn’t love beautiful? I’m sure most women were woken up with flowers and breakfast in bed. Which is fantastic just not my cup of tea. I was woken up with H’s foot in my rib and my dog snoring, yet I still had a smile on my face. I desperately wanted an ice cold glass of water (to help this wine hang over) this morning only to find that the fridge went out sometime during the night. So like any strong independent women, I went and woke M up to deal with it. I don’t have a clue how to fix a fridge. I could be pissed and throw a fit but I thought eh, so what who cares. It will be fixed. Happy V-day to us… nothing says I love you like a new fridge.
Rewind 8 years ago we used to make a big deal out of Valentine’s Day. I’d always get a dozen of roses delivered at work. We’d be all gushy to each other during the day. We never went out to dinner on Valentine’s Day. I can’t handle the crowds. We’d make dinner and snuggle up on the couch together. (We still do that)Then we got married. And the flowers stopped. Ha, isn’t it funny how your priorities change? Now, I’m all “if you even think about sending me a bouquet of overprice flowers that are going to die in a week, I’m going to be mad” I can totally find somewhere else to spend 100 bucks.
Instead of making it a big fuss about us today…we make it a big deal for H. This morning when I made it to the kitchen I noticed M put out a bunch of V-day surprises for H on the kitchen table. This is going to make her day when she wakes up. I hate that I’m not going to be there to see it. Tonight I suggested we take her to Chick-Fil-a. Have you seen what they are doing for V-day? Tonight only they are changing from a day to day fast food restaurant to a fancy white table cloth wine and dine experience. (Minus the wine) H is going to love it.
Tomorrow night we are going to the Festival of Lights. The weather is supposed to be in the 60’s. What a perfect night to walk around drinking wine and looking at lanterns floating in the sky…I’ll do just about anything to be outside sipping on some vino.
Hope everyone enjoys the abundant pictures of bouquet of roses on Facebook today… their Valentine’s day!!
What are your plans for today?
I told Scott if he buys me flowers I'll be pissed. That kind of money could go towards some cute shoes, dammit!
